The charm of the unique

Val Gardena Porphyry Layon - Bathroom, Kitchen, Floors

Place:

South Tyrol

Design of the private house in Labers near Merano. For this design, the task was to find a porphyry that matched the natural porphyry deposit at the entrance to the house. An erratic boulder from Val Gardena matched the colour of this deposit very well and was therefore used for all stone designs in the house. This erratic boulder gives the project a special exclusivity, as this material was only used for this project. In the entrance area, the Val Gardena porphyry was laid as large slabs adapted to the room sizes. The kitchen block was completely clad with 8mm thick slabs. Solid lavabos were made for the bathrooms. The shower trays in the parents' and children's bathrooms are integrated flush with the floor. A free-standing shower wall serves as a room divider.

Surface finish: flamed and brushed
