Porphyry from neighbouring Trentino is a very hard and resistant material. It withstands even frost and acids and is therefore very well suited for exterior design.
The colour of the porphyry is brownish.
This porphyry is very popular with stonemasons for outdoor areas, e.g. for stone floors, as it is very resistant. This material is well suited for the production of individual stone fountains. Of course, it is also suitable for indoor areas, stone washbasins, kitchen worktops, shower trays.
The stone is mainly obtained in small blocks or polygonal (irregular) floor slabs. Floor slabs can be cut from the small blocks in sheets of 30 and 40 in various thicknesses. The material is mostly blasted from the wall and the geological structure of the area limits the slab size. However, large raw slabs for kitchen tops are available on request. The material is also often used as paving stone. Interesting are crust slabs and decorative stones for special designs in interior and exterior areas.
